Project 1

Aim was to create an overall well balanced family home. Most of the features included exceed NZ standards by 2-3 times. For example, while NZ code needs R 2.2 wall insulation, we have used R 6. While double glazed windows are the standard requirement for NZ homes, we have opted for UPVC triple glazed low E, argon gas filled windows to minimise the heat loss increasing heating efficiency.

Aim; to build a home that achieved 8 STAR on HERS (Home Energy Rating System)
Unique features
Floating foundation and underfloor heating system with Upvc Veka Triple glazed windows; insulated roof air membrane above the ceiling; achieved air tightness of < 0.6 at 50Pa (passive house standard); German heat recovery system >90% efficiency; passive house certified.
